You mess with my son, you mess with me. Nit Picket Podcast #47.
This week Aaron and I take a trip into the land of inspirational sports films. We discuss Sandra Bullock's performance as she helps a homeless African American boy in the life affirming/Oscar reaching, The Blind Side. We also discuss the latest Clint Eastwood film, Invictus, starring Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in his first year of presidency. We also talk about the trailers for Iron Man 2 and Chris Rock's Death at a Funeral remake and we check out the gang's Always Sunny christmas special, A Very Sunny Christmas. Don't forget to tell us your ideas and suggestions for the Nit Picket cast off! Let's see what's happening in your neck of the woods.

Hey guys! Great show as always, but you should do a special each month with your Top 3 favourite French, German, Italian or Asian films, that way you'd talk about your recent movie adventures and make us discover more foreign films! I'd love to see a Top 3 British films, and I'd recommend Powell and Pressburger, 60s and 70s British cinema and David Lean (before he went to Hollywood, check out Brief Encounter, now that's what I call a romantic film).
My recommendations for Christmas : 400 Blows, Beauty and the Beast (Jean Cocteau), Earrings of Madame de..., Wages of Fear, Belle de Jour, Divorce Italian Style, La Stanza del figlio, Goodbye Lenin, the Mesrine series starring Vincent Cassel, A Very Long Engagement, Volver (when is your review for Broken Embraces on the podcast by the way! So looking forward to them!), A love to hide, Jean de Florette, The Best of Youth, Ultimo Baccio, Open Hearts, After the wedding!
Merry christmas!!!

Don't diss on Mamma Mia. You guys should check it out. It falls in the so bad its so good category (The Room territory).
Its worth watching just for seeing Pierce Brosnan trying and failing at singing. If you are familiar with some Abba songs you will enjoy it even more. Even Abba themselves fall in the category of so bad that they are good.
Mamma Mia is a solid cheesy funny flick.
I'd love to see your review on that.

I watched "The Blind Side" via dvd last night. It was one inspiring movie. I love it and knowing that it's a true to life story. I hope Sandra will when Oscars.
