If I admit to people who aren't into films that I've seen SHORTBUS, they always look at me strangely. I totally forgot that film and it totally would be at the top of that list but I think it's in a whole other league of film since it's (slightly) pornography...I mean, there are actual acts of sex on camera. Insane film, btw.

Great podcast guys and and the whole what to watch and not watch with your mother thing was genius. And as the subject was mentioned of uncomfortable films, i saw a French movie called MARTYRS - Basically the stuff that nightmares are made of. Heard of it ?

I have heard of MARTYRS and I've heard it's effing intense! How is it? Graphic, disturbing, violent?
Thanks for listening, btw!

Tiity Effing Christ Intense more like. Well the movie is basically split into 2 parts. The first is a very creepy and twisted story that looks very japanese horror inspired, but the second half turns it up to 11. All three examples you gave Aaron fit in nicely and alot more. Very difficult to watch, sadastic prolonged torture. One of the few films i've ever seen where i'm not sure if i like it or not. But still check it out, would be interesting to hear your opinion.

After you mentioned MARTYRS Joe I looked it up on IMDB and damn that movie sounds insane! Holy Fuck I even read some spoilers from the comments on IMDB about the ending and some of the torture scenes. It just sounds unimaginably over-the-top graphic and I dont want to spoil anyone with what I read but all I will say is that it relates to skin. So Joe, I applaud you for sitting through that film. Speaking of graphic I am interested in seeing Irreversible since Aaron said it was good. But I hope the rape scene isn't extremely bad since I can usually tolerate rape scenes (Itchi the Killer and Sukiyaki Western Django for example) but I have known about the film for a while from hearing about it on IFC because of that notorious scene. I might check it out sometime and great podcast as always guys, can't wait till Saturday!
