Aaron's DVD Pick for March 31, 2009
Hey there internet peeps! Aaron here. This past week I finally saw the classic Federico Fellini film from 1963: 8 1/2. Safe to say, my mind grapes are still blown. The film is so insane, powerful, epic, strange, (as Leland puts it) grotesque, weird, oddly funny, and pretty much any other adjective you can possibly think of. If you haven't seen it, and are a fan of films like Synecdoche, New York or Mulholland Drive, I highly suggest you check it out. All that aside, here's my DVD pick for Tuesday.
Slumdog Millionaire
Directed by Danny Boyle
Starring: Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor

Yeah, I know. I shouldn't really need to type ANYTHING in this little blurb below because I'm sure everyone has already heard everything there is to hear about how great Slumdog Millionaire is. But the fact of the matter is, the film lives up to the hype. Slumdog Millionaire will have you cheering in your seat (or I guess comfortable recliner//couch) as you watch the life of Jamal Malik unfold before your very eyes. The story is touching, realistic, and most of all uplifting. You may just want to get up and dance in a train station by the end...it's that good.
For serious.
