The top 3 for Nov. 26th, 2008

Last Wednesday before Thanksgiving!  Wasn't it Halloween yesterday?  Here's the top 3 comics I'm most excited about for Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #19
Written by Joss Whedon
Pencils by Karl Moline

If I'm not mistake this book is really really late.  I wasn't super into the story before the delay but even when I'm not into the story I pick up this book and am amazed that A) it even exists and B) what a high quality book it is.  Joss Whedon writing these characters again is such a treat and I'll be picking this book up month after month for his trademark dialogue alone.  I love you Joss.

Batman #681
Written by Grant Morrison
Art by Tony Daniel and Sandu Florea

This is the final 40 page issue of the Batman R.I.P. event.  While I know that they aren't going to kill off Bruce Wayne, I'm assuming he will be giving up his title and someone else will have to fill his bat-shoes.  I'm going to guess Nightwing.  Grant Morrison is a writer who often frustrates me while I'm reading his books month to month but most of the time it ends up being crazy, inspired fun.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he blows my mind.  Check out his run on Allstar Superman for something really fun and genius.

Umbrella Academy Dallas #1
Written by Gerard Way
Art by Gabriel Ba

Who knew the lead singer of My Chemical Romance could write something so great?  I think every comic fan scoffed when they saw the first solicitations.  The first run of Umbrella Academy was a lot of fun combining some really solid writing from Gerard Way and absolutely gorgeous artwork by Gabriel Ba.  I'm interested to see if Gerard Way can keep his pencils sharp and give us something as exciting and unique as the first initial run.  Even if Way fails miserably (which I don't think he will) we will still have an absolutely gorgeous book to look at.  Pick it up.

One more day true believers.
