Is this really happening?

THR is reporting that creators Mich Hurwitz and Ron Howard have signed contracts to close a deal for an Arrested Dvelopment movie.  Mitch Hurwitz will write the project and direct the film with help from Ron Howard.

Holy shit, this thing is getting more real every week it seems like.  While I'm still not totally in love with the idea of seeing these characters again on the big screen I can't help but be incredibly excited to see Gob cruising around his Segway scooter again..  I personally felt that the third season of Arrested Development started showing signs of decay but it was still better than just about every other comedy series on the air at the time.  In a perfect world they would return for a mini-series and it would already packaged in a DVD box set on my front doorstep right now.

Anyone else think this is a good/bad idea?

While I see where you're coming from about Season 3 being a step down (it was) I have to say I am 100 percent behind an Arrested Development movie. Though I do agree a miniseries would be better, and more fitting for the format of the show.

I always felt the show was more set up in the way of a movie, unlike most comedy series that can be viewed separately. I think that if they made a shorter story and put the characters in that story, it could turn out great.
