I'm constantly telling people my opinions of things.  Every now and then, the people I'm talking to are actually interested and actively engaged in what I am saying.  Most of the time, though, I'm talking only for my own benefit.  It's not often, but sometimes I'll make jokes not even with the intent of entertaining anyone around me, just so I myself can laugh.  Now this is certainly an egocentric thing to say, and therefore I had a little trouble admitting it.  But I think it is necessary to understand why I am so excited about writing for this blog.  I now have a wonderful forum to share my opinion with people who (theoretically) give a shit. 

However, I am also aware that my opinion may not always be that great.  In fact, I may have really, really bad taste sometimes.  And I'll admit that there are some areas of the film/television world in which my experience/knowledge base is sorely lacking.  For example foreign films.  I see two, maybe three foreign films a year.  Or horror?  I'm honestly having trouble remembering the last time I saw a horror movie.  So I see this blog as a chance for me to grow and expand my own tastes, to become a better critic and a more informed fan. 

I'll hopefully post a more content oriented entry soon, but I just thought a little introduction would fun.
